A workshop and masterclass
A course for for singers and piano accompanists, who would like to explore body works and active relaxation in their music making and performance. This weekend workshop is open to singers of all levels of experience, offering ensemble work, a choral masterclass and staging work in beautiful surroundings and great company.
A weekend away - combining classical singing and bodyworks
During this entertaining weekend (Friday night to Sunday afternoon) of music and singing, we offer you an opportunity to mobilise and concentrate your energies by using bodyworks (Tai Chi, Shiatsu) and breath control in individual and group exercises. The result: to deepen your singing and make performance a great experience. The weekend will close with an informal public concert by the workshop participants (soloists and ensembles) and staff.
Comfortable clothing and thick socks are recommended.
Can I take part?
Amateur singers should bring a basic level of singing experience (ability to read music is desirable, but not a pre-requisite)
Amateur singers with more experience and music college students can apply for the masterclass as well as individual coaching.
Piano accompanists should bring a higher level of experience. Music college students can apply as a duo (Voice/Piano)
The venue
With its unique charm, its historic setting and wide outside spaces, Frenswegen Abbey offers ideal surroundings for making music in a relaxed atmosphere.
Cost
The course fees are 150,00 € (100,00 € for students). This includes several hours of qualified group and one-on-one sessions. There are also opportunities for additional sessions (Shiatsu), or individual singing lessons.
Frenswegen Abbey offers the possibility of on-site accommodation and meals at moderate prices. However, there is only a limited number of rooms available. Further options for accommodation can be found in the nearby town of Nordhorn, located only 5km from the Abbey. Please contact us for further information.
